The South Australian Learning Centre (SALC), located in the heritage-listed Rogerson Building on Minda’s Brighton campus, is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that designs and delivers cost effective training to reflect and complement the customer’s specific strategic and business plans. Programs and short courses available focus primarily within the fields of disability, mental health and aged care services.
All SALC trainers are highly qualified industry experts and educators. Industry best practice forms the cornerstone of all SALC programs and short courses, driving quality outcomes for the learner and the organisation in a holistic manner.
The SALC offers the following nationally recognised qualifications:
• CHC10108 Certificate I in Work Preparation (Community Services)
• CHC20108 Certificate II in Community Services
• CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability
• CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care
• CHC40308 Certificate IV in Disability
• CHC40508 Certificate IV in Mental Health
• CHC50108 Diploma of Disability

Successful applicants may be eligible for Government incentives for accredited Certificate and Diploma nationally recognised qualifications.

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAA0104);

• Industry placements supporting community and human services training
• Student Support Services including language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) support;
• Short courses in disability awareness, ‘Personal Power’, medication management, communicating with families, first aid, manual handling, basic food safety practices and many others;
• Venue hire with plenty of onsite parking.
About the facilities
The Rogerson Building features nine training rooms, a training kitchen, a resource centre, meeting and conference rooms and two information technology/e-learning rooms. The interactive training and conference rooms are equipped with latest technology such as smart boards and video conferencing facilities and are available to hire.
Established as a RTO in 1998, Minda has a longstanding commitment to fostering high quality training and building capacity, capability and sustainability in the sector.
